They were surprisingly busy for a Tuesday night at 5:30 but we were still seated and served in a short amount of time. Mozzarella sticks were great, nice and crispy, my friend got the Alfredo and loved it! I got the Chicken Antonio and chose the pasta side over a salad but it was so much food as a dinner portion that I didn't even dig into the spaghetti- totally fine, it's gonna be great with the last bit of the chicken antonio tomorrow for lunch! We got one huge brownie to take with us to the movie theater and it was perfect for sharing. Loved it! Will be back.

A little expensive, but their sandwiches and pizzas are some of the best I've ever had.

Meh. In all my years of living in Vermont I have never been to Mimo's so I figured we would check it out about 3 weeks ago. Walking in, the space was underwhelming, the menu had a fair selection, and the service was decent. The food though, the food was mediocre at best. It didn't really have a lot of flavor and it wasn't noteworthy by any means. I didn't dislike it, but I can't say that I want to go here again.

The food was great. We all had pizza and salad! Awesome gluten free pizza crust. The Ceasar Salad is great. Service the last two times I've been has been so so....first time it was the kitchen not reading tickets when ordering gluten free. Second time again the kitchen leaving the chicken off my salad. Also one pizza came out wrong because the waitress entered a pizza incorrectly. All situations rectified quickly by takes away from the experience. The food is awesome!!

I have gone to the St. Albans location before with my sister before which has always been a good experience - good food - good portions - nice staff. So, I thought it would be the same at the essex location. I was definitely wrong on that one! I ordered take out for my husband and I. They lady said 15 min. which was great so it seemed that it wasn't too packed. I got there and no one was there so that should of been any issue cooking food for us. I got the Chicken Franchese dinner, a salad and a calzone. My total bill was $41.41 - seriously?!? I got the receipt and they charged me 3.00 more dollars for gluten free (I actually understand that charge) and another 2.00 for changing the sauce for the pasta that was supposed to come with the meal. That is on top of the 15.00 they charged me for the chicken. So i thought we were just going to get big portions of are meal. No! We got the food, not only did the chicken smell rotten, there were only two thin slices in the container. It also smelled like they used claim sauce instead of white wine. They gave me - seriously no joke - 5 bites of pasta and no sauce. I was so hungry by that time i started eating the pasta and it tasted like metal - like they cooked the pasta in the take out container. My husband got the calzone which was $10.75 and it was tiny. He was able to cut it into 4 tiny strips and eat it. Needless to say I wish I could get my money back and I will not be going back to this place over again.

So glad we found this place. There is a dearth of places to get casual pasta that is also edible in this region, and Mimmo's totally hits the spot. The pizza is a little too greasy and the hammy operatic singing thing is a bit much, but the portions are huge, the prices are reasonable, the service is great.

Run of the mill Italian food. The night we went was apparently busy but out server was very friendly and kind. Some little children were out of control and somewhat ruined our meal but that is no fault of the restaurant.

I know they have food aside from pizza and calzones, but that's what they specialize in. The Italian entrees are fine, but I usually get a pizza here (Simones Special: tomato, feta, sausage). The crust is the right balance between chewy and crispy. The sausage isn't crumbles either, they're super thin slices which I think improves the texture.

We normally get take-out pizza from Mimmo's and that is always quite good but this past weekend we found ourselves hungry and in Essex at 9:45 pm with few options. I checked the Yelp app on my phone to see what place was open later and Mimmo's came up. Hurray! They happen to be open until 11 pm on Saturdays, which meshed nicely with our super late trip to Lowe's. The place was dead at almost 10 pm, aside from the servers rushing around and cleaning up. They were a bit loud but as it was late and we were desperate, we didn't pay too much attention. They didn't put up the chairs, though, which I REALLY can't stand so for that, I am grateful. Our server was also quite friendly and welcoming although it was late - always appreciated! I had the meatball sub and my husband had the Chicken Antonio and we split an order of mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks were clearly not homemade but they were decent. It's hard to find them homemade around here so that's not a big deal. It would be a nice touch, though! The meals themselves were... eh. Edible, sure, I love the Mimmo's sauce.. but not the best. For some reason, the bread on the sub really soaked up the sauce, which tasted sorta weird when it was quite soggy. The meatballs were decent but - honestly - I can make a better meatball. It was definitely edible and not bad but I've had better casual Italian. The "dishware" was super casual, which gave it more of a "going to eat at Pizza Putt with the kids" kind of vibe. In sum, we were both quite grateful that they have very accommodating hours and the food is decent, for sure, but don't go expecting the best Italian you've ever had.

Yum Yum Yum! Spaghetti with vegetable marinara sauce is SO good! Broccoli, carrots, peppers, peas, mushrooms, zucchini, it's all in there. Portion is enough for two people or leftovers. Great casual atmosphere and perfect for families. Their marinara sauce is the best around.

Wow. Just had a couple pies from here tonight. They were fantastic. Had one Sicilian and one regular pie with onions and mushrooms, both well-done. For NY-style (I lived there for a long time) pies, go here. Good stuff. Their sauce is fantastic. We've eaten in at the Essex spot a few time. It's a friendly, delicious experience. The dressing on their Greek salad is very tasty. Also, I love their red sauce. It's great on pasta and now I know that it translates to the take-out pies very well. Love this affordable spot.

We tried Mimmo's because we thought we'd been to Sukkho Thai too many times before seeing a movie in Essex. We should have gone for Thai. Mimmo's decor feels like a chain restaurant--Macaroni Grill or somesuch--which isn't bad, just unusual for folks from Burlington. The staff were super-friendly but, I'm thinking, poorly trained. They were out of menus when we arrived at 5 p.m. on a Saturday, despite the fact that the restaurant wasn't full. No big deal, as we got our menus after about five minutes. We ordered and our sodas came right away. We waited another 30 minutes (!!!) for our garlic bread, an appetizer. The waitress apologized and said that our order had been sent to another table. Okaaay, but 30 minutes? Then it was another 20 minutes before our entrees showed up: linguini alfredo (which does NOT take 50 minutes to make) and eggplant parm that had obviously been sitting under a heat lamp for a very long time. The food itself was okay, but you've made better in your home. I'd give the food three out of five stars. I've waited tables before and, in this situation, clearly the server should be comping something: the garlic bread, a tea refill, SOMETHING. But no. Since we had a movie to catch, we asked for to-go boxes to come with our entrees. At least these came right away. So did the check: $50. Never again.

If you are in need of some good Italian or just want some pizza for lunch this place is for you! I have gone here for lunch many many times over the years. I also finally had the honor to have dinner here last weekend. I am happy to report that it was amazing. The service here is always top notch! The servers and staff are always friendly. Willing to help you out with whatever your needs are. Even when I come with my office of about 12-15 people they are always on top of everything! This is a huge plus in my book. The staff really makes or breaks a place. They deliver and they deliver it well! The food here is also amazing! They make their own sauce and I must say it taste great! I have had pizza all the way down to their buffalo chicken wings! The menu is a great size and there is something for everyone. I would recommend Simone's Special for pizza. Its a perfect blend of spices and cheese! The prices here are also more than fair. For lunch I normally get 2 slices of pizza and a drink for $5.35 by it self. This does not include a tip. This past weekend we got an ap and a whole large pizza plus a dessert! All for around $36.00 or so. Mimmo's is great on the wallet! The location is good too. Right in Essex Jct before Essex center. The inside looks great and its always clean. No complaints here as well. So I can without a doubt recommend this place! For lunch or even dinner! Its amazing all the way around! Great 5/5! I will continue to give them my business! I also hear the one up in Saint Albans is good too. May try that when I am in the area.

Coming from NYC, it is very hard to find quality-Italian food elsewhere. However, Mimmo's has delicious and quality food. Definitely my go-to for good Italian food in the Burlington area.

Food is great, a few side items slow to come out, but definitely worth it. Calzone was fantastic!

This is more of a family-oriented restaurant than a pizza parlor. There are two rooms. On the left, is where the pizza ovens are located and ~8 tables. To the right, is the dining room with another ~10 tables. The ambiance is similar to that of Olive Garden, simple yet cozy. There were a lot of kids (almost 1-2 at each table), so the place was quite loud with kids screaming. In order to keep the place somewhat civil, a ball of raw dough was given to each kid to play with. For my entree, I ordered the Chicken Francese with choice of salad or pasta. I chose to go with a Caesar Salad. The Caesar salad, served in a small bowl (almost cup-size) was a bit of a disappointment, flavors a bit bland. The salad could have also used some parmesan cheese to help accentuate the flavors, but overall is was quite a bore. Shortly after, our entrees were brought over. The waitress informed me that the chef had put the chicken on top of the pasta, and she said not to worry about it. I was a bit relieved, realizing that the chicken alone would not fill me up. Pasta was served al dente yet nothing to talk about. The chicken was a bit dry and chewy, in again, what seemed to be a bland white wine lemon sauce, which did not even have the least bit hint of sourness. Service was average, as our waitress made it a point to come over several times throughout our meal to see if things were okay. But overall, I was a bit disappointed in the food and was surprised to see that this place was jammed packed. I also asked my friends what they thought, and none of them thought much of their dishes. Maybe the chef was just having an off-day?

Hi prices. Scampi with 4 shrimp over $0.50 of angel hair and some olive oil for $13 is ridiculous. The last two times my wife and have been here the host has tried to seat us in one of the foyer tables when the main dining room is empty or near empty. Odd. Food want the best.

I am kind of meh on Mimmo's food. It isn't great and it isn't bad. Like I said, it is just kind of meh. I would say on the better side of meh because we do find ourselves ordering from here somewhat often. The service, however, is wonderful. The people that work there are so incredibly pleasant. One thing that I LOVE about this place is that one of the chefs sings italian opera while cooking. I mean he really belts it out. And he is good. That alone, makes it worth it. '

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
